March 21, 2024I was looking for a new smart display for my room at university and I was interested in this but it was well over £200 for a brand new one so I had a shop around and found this one.
When i got the device, it was in very good condition, it wrapped in protective plastic and the included power lead was wrapped up nicely into a elastic band. There were no vidible scratches or any aigns of damage to the device and was overall in very good condition.
Setup was easy, even for university halls wifi, it just opens the browser and it let me sign into the university halls wifi network on my account and once i did that, it was connected and I was able to sign in to my Amazon account and I was ready to go in no time.
It does everything I want it to, music, radio, news, showing the weather etc. The speaker is quite good too, plenty of bass (which can be adjusted in the app) with good midrange and treble. The motion sometimes works but can be a hit and miss, sometimes it would hit things as it was moving, even after ne adjusting the range of motion, so in the end I just turned it off. (this maybe because I have it in one corner where space is limited)
Overall, for £150 i think it's a good deal. The device works well, I've not had any issues with it and it's great to use when studying or gaming to listen to music or the radio and having Alexa on hand for other things is always useful too. If not having the original box isn't a big deal to you, then I would definitely recommend as I think £150 is a good deal for what you get and definitely worth the money!

October 15, 2023Where to I start... The screen rotation, to me it is more of a novelty than anything else. The screen does rotate towards your voice, problem is, it will eventually auto rotate back to its set point, but rarely does it actually stop at the screen's setpoint. I turned rotation off, don't miss it. One problem is that when the screen is at its set point it is not fixed meaning when you tap the screen anywhere outside of the middle point meaning the edges, it flips and flops back and forth by maybe a quarter inch.
I also have an issue with the device understanding me. I upgraded from an original 2019 Show device, at that time, I don't think there even was a Gen 1, 2... but I will refer to the old device as Gen 1. The Gen 1, with the TV on at normal volume it had no problems hearing me and executing my voice commands. With the Show 10, I have to repeat my commands multiple times and even have to yell at it to get it to do what I asked. I have WeMo lights that can be controlled by the Show 10, command to turn on a living room light is Livingroom on, when I give the command Alexa responds, which device, I say living room again, it still asks which device, so I yell at it living room and it turns on the light. Interestingly enough when I say Livingroom off from the bedroom (same device in living room), it works first time. With the TV on, and it's not that loud, I have to repeat 4 out of 5 voice commands. I talked to Show 10 support and asked why you don't have noise canceling incorporated into the device, they said that's a good question, maybe we'll put that in a future update.
Enough complaining: larger screen is nice and colorful. The unit has some weight so where you sit it is where it stays. It has a lot of new features not in the Gen 1. Sound is good, camera is also decent quality and for those that are paranoid, it can be disabled with a slider that covers the camera.
That's it, one final note, it would be nice if they dropped the price by $50 or so. Saying this because if you are upgrading from an older device, you are paying a premium, especially if your old device works as does mine.

November 7, 2024I first got this as a gift for my sister as an add-on security feature for her ring camera (inside and outside). She swears by it and since she works from home she can literally take it from room to room and not walk to the door every time there's a knock.
It has so many useful features like object tracking technology; which means it rotates or follows you as you walk around the room.
It sends you reminders of items you already bought from amazon incase you need to reorder and you can do it straight away from the echo show 10 without going on your phone.
The speakers are really good, and I listen to trivials, music, watch videos on amazon prime videos and also Netflix and YouTube. This means I don't have to be fixed in front of a TV to stream or watch my favourite shows.
Personally, I don't know how I survived without this in the past as it's become an integral part of my daily life, with calendar reminders, weather forecast, the news and more being displayed from one device.

July 3, 2024This thing is great. I gave it 3 stars because of advertising. Stuck with a useless adds that can't be turned off....remember the phones before you could purchase unlock ones. Same premise here, you get tons of adds and there's nothing you can do about it. Of course this information is not displayed anywhere, you find out after purchasing item. Also, I'm not to comfortable with everything that you do with this unit will be on Amazon's servers. Also unlike the Google Nest Hub you cannot make calls directly from it. In order to make calls from you contact list you must share your number which in my case Verizon wants $5.00 dollars a month for this service. You can add up to 10 numbers from your contact list without the number sharing. Just maybe returning it since my only purpose for going with Echo was to integrate my Ring cameras, but since I can do the same from my phone, it pretty much renders this a $249.00 waste of money.
