Early December, we purchased the Balsam Hill Classic Blue Sprouse, Traditional 7.5 ft with White LED Clear Lights to replace our existing BH Blue Spruce that failed to fully light up. Incidentally, our existing BH tree is only a few years old.

The new BH tree arrived w/in days and we set it up w/little to no effort. Within hours, the LED lights started to dim and flicker. Few days later, 12/10/24, I called Balsam Hill who said it was a faulty switch/transformer and they would send me a new one. 7 days later I still did not receive the new switch. I called Balsam Hill who informed me that they do not have all the parts so only a portion of the switch has been shipped; the remaining parts are on back order. The Customer Service Rep than went on to tell me that 17,000 other customers are in the same situation. She said that I have two choices: wait for the part and receive 10% refund for the inconvenience or request a full refund. Christmas is 8 days away. We're now faced with tearing down the tree, removing ALL the ornaments, and spending the holidays w/o a tree or wait for the part that may or may not fix the problem and spend the holidays w/a decorated tree that I cannot light up! I am so disappointed with Balsam Hill and frankly, I do not know what I'm going to do. Keep the tree as is and wait and hope the parts that are on backorder fixes the problem or take advantage of the 30 day return policy for a full refund AND experience Christmas without a tree ? This is absurd! How can you sell a pre-lit tree (at premium prices) that fails to light up properly and how can you not have enough replacement parts on hand at this time of the year? I seriously doubt that I will make any further purchases with BH.

After spending over $1000 (on sale) for this tree 2 years ago here are a few points I wish I knew before buying:
-The tree insect is beautiful. Very realistic and great quality.
- the twinkly light application needs lots of work.
-there is no white light setting. You will have to make your own and if you ever have to reset the tree due to new internet or whatever you lose all of your premade settings
-as mentioned above, if you have to reset your tree to the app you lose every light setting you have made.
- the white is a cool white, there is no way to get a warm white light (that I have found anyways in the last 2 years)
-this is my third year using this tree and all of the sudden it won't stay connected to the WiFi so I have no way to control the tee lights and you can't even call twinkly lights for assistance, you have to leave a message request on the website and I'm still waiting for someone to call me back, in the meantime I have no lights on my tree, after spending 30 minutes on the phone with my internet provider and it's not their issue because it shows that tree is connected on their end.
All in all a very frustrating tree especially after having paid over $1000 for a tree I thought I would have for years.
Of note, I don't even pack my tree away after Christmas, I simply move it into a guest bedroom and it stays fully formed and safe all year. Good luck if you have to wrestle it away every year because I can't imagine it would sustain that way if it won't even last being fully formed and in the corner of a room all year ( not plugged in)

I've wanted a Balsam Hill Christmas tree for many years, but my budget was always telling me 'no no no' because Balsam Hill trees are pricey. Well, I discovered their sale prices and had to tell my budget 'yes yes yes'!! This was the year that I would finally have the most beautiful of artificial Christmas trees!! I purchased the 6.5' Classic Blue Spruce™ Full Prelit Artificial Christmas Tree, Green, LED Candlelight™ , Traditional, Easy Plug by Balsam Hill. Even though the tree arrived after Christmas, I HAD to set it up right then!! I had COVID during Christmas, so we rescheduled our family get together for after Christmas. The tree is absolutely gorgeous. I was amazed with how full the tree became after fluffing every single branch. It was a lengthy process, for sure, but once finished, the tree was so full and real looking!! The gloves that came with the tree were life savers for my hands. When it was time to remove the decorations and put the tree away for next Christmas, I just didn't want to put it away! It's a beautiful tree! I decided to replace the Christmas ornaments with Valentine's Day ornaments and now I can enjoy the tree for a while longer. I married my honey on Valentine's Day, and this year will be our 48th anniversary. I'm wanting more Balsam Hill trees now, this time with the multi color lights, or the color + clear LED-easy plug lights.

I bought the 6.5 ft with incandescent lights during a Black Friday sale. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the height is misleading. It's not based on the "trunk". The last 8" come from bending a branch straight up. I actually almost called thinking they sent the wrong tree.
I do wish they made the section labels a bit more discrete as I will leave them on since I'll probably forget before next year. I also wished the plug for the lights was the low profile one and the pedal was closer to the base of the tree than the plug.
Other than that I am really pleased with the final look with branches spread. It took about 45 minutes the first time but really filled out nicely. Being a person who has always done real trees, I really wanted to not like this tree. It does take effort to spread out each branch- I think it'll take less time next year tho. I appreciated the gloves, they actually provide two so someone could help, and the plug at the top of the lights for my Angel topper.
I'm already happy about not worrying about the tree drying out or the needles on the floor. And I'm looking forward to being able to put my heavier ornaments anywhere instead of just at the top where the thicker branches are.
