I hate the F1

January 12, 2024This review will only be talking about the F1 car because it's the only one I have touched so far. This will also be the first review I write in anger, as of a few minutes ago I gave up trying to put that darn thing together. Most of the pieces on the outside are holding on by only a couple of studs so if you put ANY pressure on the build (which you will need to do to get some of the more stubborn pieces on) they pop off and fly away at mach five. by far the worst offender is the big white piece that is angled so you could fit the wheel in, it pops off with even the slightest push. and to make matters worse I can get it back on for the life of me. I give up, it's not worth it. Maybe the other car is good, I don't know or really care at this point.
Design of the orange one isn’t great

April 15, 2024These cars are super cool and my boys love them. My only complaint is that the front of the orange car is not sturdy at all. It keeps falling apart even with my boys being carful and playing gentle with it. There are so many little pieces in the front, it just falls apart and is difficult to put back together. The white car is definitely designed better and doesn’t fall apart as easy. We took off four “decorative” parts that come off easy on the white one, but the white one stays together great!

March 12, 2023Overall this set was fun to build. Out of the 2 cars the McLaren is definitely my favorite. The other car does nothing for me, and should have been replaced with a more luxurious sports car.
The second car is the 2nd car in my inventory that didn't use the center black lego piece in which to build the car. Most cars in the Speed Champions series the cars use the center piece to build the car around it. The 2nd car doesn't, you build the car and the suspension using lego pieces to build the car.
Both sets come with a small set of stickers and those need to be put on using Windex and hobby tweezers because some of the stickers are very small.
Enjoy the build.
Great look but fragile

December 27, 2024While the sets look great, the F1 is incredibly flimsy. It's definitely not a child toy, as something will pop off from it if someone sneezes in the same room. It took ages to build because as soon as a part was put on another fell off. The front had to be rebuilt 3-4 times because it didn't want to align. The Solus GT is better from this perspective but even that has issues with some parts.
