November 25, 2024I'm not a "rewarded review" and don't need to exaggerate. For reference, my main phone now is a Pixel 6a but I'm really considering using this Samsung A15 5g as my new main phone. I won't lie, there's two things that hold this phone back from being a 5 star review. Those things are this only has one bottom single firing speaker and the RAM is less than I'd prefer. I got a black Friday deal on this phone and have only used it for two days, but overall performance has been fantastic! Benchmark numbers for the Pixel 6a and my previous iPhone 13 were both higher but this A15 holds right up against them. Whether I'm doing basics, gaming(light games are all I play), listening to music,or making/receiving phone calls, this phone handles it all with relative ease. And rather fast too. Many reviews here and elsewhere had me anxious about whether this phone could perform without serious lagging. To my pleasant surprise, it keeps up with anything you want to do and aside from during setup, there hasn't been any real lags or slow down. It won't perform like a $1,000 phone which is common sense but it will do everything an expensive phone does maybe just not as fast. If this phone had dual speakers and just a tad more RAM, it'd be perfect. On the RAM, use the device care cleaner and delete individual apps' cache often. That'll ensure your phone runs like a champ like mine does. Also, restarting your phone once a day or every few days will free up RAM to optimize it too. I use device care many times per day to release any memory that can be freed up. I'm surprised Android users don't already know these tips in 2024 but it'll make a huge performance difference. Unless you're a high end phone snob or too lazy to do my tips, this phone is surprisingly great.

March 11, 2024Let me start this review by saying I don't normally write reviews. I'm sure we've all read a review or few that say this same thing but I feel as if it's relevant. I bought this phone to replace my ancient samsung Galaxy A51. It's definitely an upgrade from that model for almost twice the price but maybe not worth almost 300 dollars, although I'm not really sure what is worth what anymore with the state of this economy.
I bought this phone with three primary attributes I was looking for. A good camera, a headphone jack and an excellent battery life. I got two of these things. Although I'm not too disappointed.
The 1x camera does not focus unless it's within 6 inches of the subject. I could be using it incorrectly but I was under the impression that a 1x camera was supposed to be the primary camera capable of taking a wide range of photographs. It does not do this. The . 5x camera and the macro camera work great though. Good enough that I've decided to just keep the phone, especially after already enduring setting up this beast to my liking.
I am very particular about how I set up my phone and this has lots of options. A variety of widgets for my pleasure. Good accessibility options, specifically the live transcribe feature accessible with a single button press from anywhere as I am hard of hearing and work retail where hearing customers is important. I heat and read lips well enough to not use this on a daily basis but it's still nice to have the option. It's something I really liked on my A51 that I'm very pleased is on this one, as well.
Now let me talk about the battery life. I saw another comment say that it could very well last 24 hours and I called bullshit until I saw it for myself. I had unplugged my phone at 100% 9am F
Saturday morning, sat on a voice call through discord with my partner for 4 hours, took my phone to work for a 10hr shift 2pm to 12:20am the next day where i use my phone for work, got home and fell asleep without plugging my phone in (my mistake) and Spotify playing rain noises all through the night, woke up at 11am the next day Sunday before work and realized my mistake at a remarkable 15%. Over 24 hours of continuous use and was still able to tell the tale after my alarms thankfully still woke me up on time for my shift.
Not much else for me to say on this phone as these are the main things I can comment on but it's definitely worth it if the possibility of a malfunctioning camera is survivable to you. My partner has told me it may be an issue with the auto focus so I'll update my review if I'm able to resolve this issue. Good phone, excellent battery life if that's something you need, good accessibility, many customization options, no issues with my Tmobile provider, an ever increasingly rare headphone jack. Oh, and the packaging was wonderfully minimal! The box for the phone case was bigger than the entire packaging for the phone, charger and other doohickeys. Would recommend although my next phone in approximately 4-7 years will hopefully be a more advanced model with a functioning camera! Kudos.
Don't buy this phone!

December 6, 2024If you are looking at this Galaxy A15 phone, keep scrolling! This is a very poor phone, in my opinion. The phone comes with a year warranty and you will need it! In just over one years time, I have gone through four (4) A15 phones. They only work properly for 2 and a half to 3 months, then start acting up. Verizon gives the disclaimer, when replacing the phone, "that if they find nothing wrong with the phone, you will be charged for the replacement phone. In the three phones that I have had replaced, I was never charged for any of them. So the phones must have been BAD! (I have my phone in a very good case to help protect it) Verizon did not want to warranty the last phone (even though the 1 year warranty was not up yet), so I reminded them that I had been a customer for 12 years that always paid my bill on time and in full and that there were other cell phone carriers, looking for new customers. They reluctantly replaced it, but sadly, it is a couple months old and starting to act up now.
The A15's studder, they freeze up, the apps that are running will shut down or stop, sometimes if trying to run more than one app or switch between apps. The screen will scroll when trying to open apps sometimes. Often when trying to open one app, when pressing on that icon, a different app will open. Often, you can tap an icon and nothing happens, even after repeated taps (sometimes things just won't open). As time goes on, the phone slows down, way down. You will need to go into the devise care part of the phone and optimize it daily or every other day to help keep it functioning at a reasonable speed or it is even worse. You will also need to power it down or restart every few days to help it function correctly.
This is a poor phone at best, I believe that it has too many features and too little processor. Save your money, spend a couple more bucks and buy a different phone or save two old soup cans and pull the laces out of your old work boots and use that as a phone. It will work just as well!

July 29, 2024My Galaxy Experience started with The Samsung Galaxy 5, with its features of focusing the image after I had took the picture. Was great even back than. Today I use the Galaxy A15 and I love it. It was affordable and I use it everyday for work and personal experiences. I use almost every feature, Samsung Members to connect with family and friends and to meet new people or get help with any concern I have, I use Samsung Health because it keeps up with my health, I really enjoy having the help with medication reminders and exercise and the events I can create and those I can invite to participate or more with around the world. The accessories for the Galaxy or great. So much to choose from I get excited sometimes and wish to have it all. I love Samsung AI. I believe that Samsung AI is the future of technology and the experiences are limitless. Samsung Galaxy AI evolves more and more each day. Each device learning and acclimating ,adapting to its specific owner and its for the better. In our fast pace world having Samsung Galaxy AI and a Galaxy device will be a priority. I will always use Samsung in the Future and I appreciate the hard work and easy access to help me with informing me how to use or how to correct and I enjoy my experience. To me I look forward to a world that is in harmony . God has blessed us with technology for a reason and we should all respect and admonish and encourage each other, so we can all live peaceful, happy, safe, productive lives. Thank you Samsung!
